God's Work in Jamaica

PRAYERS ANSWERED LIVES CHANGED GOD IS MOVING IN JAMAICA!

It has been an awesome journey to watch as God has worked His will and His ways. So many times we have seen lives change before our eyes.

NEW CHURCH, NEW BEGINNING?

The soup kitchen in Whitehouse is thriving. With 30 to 50 people each day we are open they are being fed the word of God along with a hot meal. it is easy to see their old ways starting to melt away. Clothes and shoes are given to those who have none and one on one conversation with the street people is making an impact on them. They want us to start a church for them, a church where they don't have to wear "fussy" clothes and can come as they are. Many sleep on the street and have no way to bathe, one homeless man was asleep and someone poured gasoline on him and set him on fire. He has recovered and with many Christians coming together we were able to build a small house for him in the mountains. We are praying to be able to help others in this manner. We have fallen in love with these people and find that they are so very grateful for anything that can be done for them. Most are open to the word of God as it is brought forth by a local pastor. Merchants are coming on board to help with food and bread. May God bless them in a mighty way for understanding that "what we do to the least of them, we do unto Him."

PROMISE SCHOOL

The computer school at the JfJ Promise School was again blessed by Taylor University with two computers. The student population is still growing and now includes sponsors for children that cannot otherwise afford to attend. A festival was held in March to raise money for the school. Sandal's Hotel has partnered with JfJ to sponsor children for the summer. Next month they plan another festival in our Promise School yard with food and entertainment for the public.

CONTAINERS TO JAMAICA

We are in the process of sending a container to Jamaica. A mission in SC has offered a filled container of relief items for us if the paper work can be worked out. Also, we are working with another mission for a possible container to be sent late this summer. A semi trailer was given as a gift to JfJ but at this time it is not believed to be sea worthy. God has a plan and we just need to be in His waiting room until things are worked out. It will be a blessing to many if this all comes about..

INCORPORATION OF JFJ

Our ministry has been under the umbrella of Agape Ministry in Muncie, In. for 18 years. We are now "all grown up" and have been incorporated under Indiana and Federal laws. We have joined FAITH CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL who have over 200 churches and ministries. We will be accountable to them along with our board of directors. At the present time, we have eleven board members. We are now known as JESUS FOR JAMAICA INTERNATIONAL. We are creating a new web site, www.jfji.org It should be finished sometime in June. We will continue to use www.jesusforjamaica.com until further notice.

TEAMS OF WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS

We are excited about all the people that have caught the vision in Jamaica. With four teams during the winter, and four more to arrive this summer, many things are being accomplished in His name. A large foundation was built by the March team, they will be bringing 28 youth in June to put up the building. This building overlooks the sea with spectacular views. It will house future teams and a place for the doctors and nurses that will arrive to work in the clinic. It is only a few steps away from the clinic. WHAT A BLESSING!!!

Please continue to pray for the outreach, for the people and for safety for the teams that will arrive to minister in Whitehouse, Jamaica. Your support and prayers is what is keeping us there.
